Terms of Use — mojoReader

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") are entered into between Business Mojo Pty Ltd (ABN 47 122 994 496) ("Business Mojo", "we", "us", "our") and you, the user ("you", "your").

These Terms govern your access to and use of mojoReader, a free, browser-based markdown viewer operated by Business Mojo (the "Service"). mojoReader is provided at no cost, requires no account or registration, and does not collect or store any personal data on any server.

By using mojoReader, you agree that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must cease use of the Service immediately.

This document supplements the Business Mojo Master Terms of Service available at businessmojo.com.au. Where these Terms are silent on a matter, the Master Terms of Service apply. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the Master Terms of Service, these Terms prevail in respect of mojoReader.

1. Definitions

"mojoReader" means the free, client-side markdown viewer web application operated by Business Mojo at reader.businessmojo.com.au (and any successor URLs).

"Content" means any text, markdown, documents, or other materials you load into, paste into, or view through mojoReader.

"Shared Link" means a URL generated by mojoReader that encodes document content in a compressed format within the URL itself, without any server-side storage.

"Local Storage Data" means data stored in your browser's localStorage by mojoReader, limited to theme preference and recent file names.

2. Grant of Licence

Subject to these Terms, Business Mojo grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, royalty-free licence to access and use mojoReader for personal or internal business purposes. No fees are charged for use of this Service.

3. No Data Collection

mojoReader is designed with a zero data collection architecture:

No accounts or authentication are required.
No personal information is collected, transmitted, or stored on any server.
No analytics, cookies, or tracking technologies are used.
All document processing occurs entirely within your browser.

3.1. Browser Local Storage

mojoReader uses your browser's localStorage to store the following data locally on your device:

Theme preference (light/dark mode selection)
Recent file names (for convenience when reopening files)

This data never leaves your device, is never transmitted to any server, and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

Business Mojo retains all right, title, and interest in and to mojoReader, including all source code, object code, user interface designs, graphics, and documentation. No rights are granted to you other than the limited licence expressly set forth in Section 2.

You retain all rights in your own Content. mojoReader does not claim any ownership of, or licence to, Content that you load into or view through the Service.

5. Shared Links

mojoReader allows you to generate Shared Links that encode your document content in a compressed format within the URL hash. You acknowledge and agree that:

Shared Links contain the full content of your document encoded in the URL.
No server-side storage is involved — the document exists only within the URL itself.
Anyone with the Shared Link can view the full document content.
You are solely responsible for determining what content is appropriate to share via Shared Links.
Do not share confidential, sensitive, or proprietary information via Shared Links, as URLs may be logged by browsers, proxies, or intermediary services.

6. Rendering Accuracy

mojoReader renders markdown, Mermaid diagrams, LaTeX mathematics, and other supported formats on a best-effort basis. You acknowledge and agree that:

Rendering output may differ from other markdown processors or the original intended formatting.
Complex or non-standard markdown, Mermaid syntax, or LaTeX expressions may not render correctly.
Business Mojo does not warrant that rendered output is error-free, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.
You should not rely on mojoReader's rendering as authoritative for legal, financial, medical, or safety-critical documents.

7. Use Restrictions

You agree that you will not, and will not permit any third party to:

reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to discover the source code of mojoReader beyond what is available in the browser's developer tools in the ordinary course of use;
use the Service to render, display, or distribute infringing, unlawful, or tortious material;
interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service;
use the Service for any high-risk activities where failure could lead to death, personal injury, or environmental damage;
attempt to gain unauthorised access to any systems or networks associated with the Service;
remove, obscure, or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices; or
use mojoReader's branding, name, or logo in a manner that implies endorsement by Business Mojo without prior written consent.

8. Limitation of Liability and Disclaimer

8.1. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." BUSINESS MOJO DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

8.2. No Liability for Content

mojoReader processes Content entirely within your browser. Business Mojo has no access to, control over, or responsibility for any Content you load into or view through the Service.

8.3. Third-Party Dependencies

mojoReader relies on third-party open-source libraries for rendering functionality. Business Mojo expressly disclaims any and all liability for any issues, inaccuracies, or failures arising from these third-party dependencies.

8.4. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL BUSINESS MOJO'S AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF MOJOREADER EXCEED FIFTY AUSTRALIAN DOLLARS (AUD $50). AS MOJOREADER IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS LIMITATION IS FAIR AND REASONABLE.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Business Mojo and its officers, directors, and employees from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your Content; (b) your use of Shared Links; or (c) your breach of these Terms or violation of any applicable law.

10. Term and Termination

These Terms are effective from the date you first use mojoReader and continue until terminated. You may stop using mojoReader at any time. Business Mojo may discontinue or modify mojoReader at any time without notice. Upon termination, Sections 4, 6, 8, 9, and 11 shall survive.

11. General Provisions

11.1. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of New South Wales, Australia, and the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the courts in New South Wales.

11.2. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Business Mojo concerning the use of mojoReader.

11.3. Updates to Terms

We may, in our sole discretion, change or modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of mojoReader after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

11.4. Force Majeure

Business Mojo shall not be liable for failures or delays arising from any cause beyond our reasonable control, including infrastructure outages, internet disruptions, or actions of third-party service providers.

11.5. Assignment

You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without the prior written consent of Business Mojo.

11.6. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
